Research and Development Positions

Circuit Modeling and Application Engineers (2)
Responsibility
- Be a member of a design team involved in 90nm/65nm analog circuit design and development (PLL, ADC and SerDes) to perform independently the following design tasks: behavioral model development, test bench development, model validation, model calibration with circuits and silicon, design and model documentation, and application note development.
- Work with Orora customers (analog design teams world-wide) to apply Orora design and modeling tools to ensure customers' design success. Specific tasks involve customer circuit model evaluation, benchmarking, and on-site support.
- Provide feedback to Orora Engineering teams on design tool development and enhancements and bug fixing.
Knowledge base
- IC design with emphasis on analog/mixed-signal systems
- Familiarity with ADC, PLL, SerDes design is a plus
- Solid knowledge in behavioral modeling concept and techniques
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Cadence Design Environment (ADE and Spectre simulator)
- Experience with behavioral modeling language (Verilog-A, etc)
- Programming skill in Matlab
- 2+ years of related product experience and/or research experience in behavioral modeling techniques or mixed-signal circuit design.
Education
- BS with 2 years+ industry experience, or Master's with 1 year+ industry design experience desired

Analog Design and Application Engineers (2)
Responsibility

- Work with Orora customers (analog design teams world-wide) to apply Orora design tools to ensure customers' design success. Specific tasks involve customer circuit evaluation, benchmarking, on-site support.
- Provide feedback to Orora engineering teams on design tool product development, enhancement and bug fixing.
Knowledge base
- Previous design experience in one or more of the following: voltage references, opamps, high speed I/O circuitry, ADC/DAC circuitry, PLL circuitry
- Basic understanding of CMOS semiconductor physics
- Basic understanding of digital CMOS circuit design
Skills

Software Development Engineers (2)
Responsibility
- This person will be responsible for software development for Orora's industry-leading analog and custom digital integrated circuit design tools. The specific responsibility includes the enhancements to Orora's C/C++ code base and the development and test of new modules based on product specification.
Qualifications

Programming language:
Java, C++, or any other object-oriented programming language. Fluent use of basic data structures and algorithms. Familiar with utilities of string handling, I/O handling, error handling, event handling. Familiar with other Java utilities and libraries is a plus. -
Scripting:
C Shell, Perl. Cadence SKILL is a plus. -
User Interface design:
Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design. Fluent use of Model-View-Controller (MVC) concept when developing GUI. Experience with Swing utilities and Java graphics is a plus. -
Operating systems:
Working experience of Linux/UNIX operating systems. Efficient and accurate use of system utilities (system calls). Understand concepts of process and thread, related mechanism. Installation of software tools in Linux/UNIX. Administration and network maintenance knowledge is a plus. -
Software engineering:
Experience with Concurrent Version Systems (CVS). Experience with Eclipse SDK is plus. -
Electronic circuits:
Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuits (undergraduate level). Experience with schematic capture, netlisting, simulation, Verilog/VHDL is a plus.

Senior CAD Engineer (2)
Responsibility
- This person will be responsible for software development for Orora's industry-leading analog and custom digital integrated circuit design tools. The specific responsibility includes the enhancements to Orora's C/C++ optimization code base and the development and test of new modules based on product specification.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of C/C++ programming experience
- Knowledge and deep understanding of optimization algorithms (global and local optimization, mathematical programming) as demonstrated by graduate-level research projects and course work , and/or
- Knowledge and deep understanding of circuit simulation techniques (numerical nonlinear differential equation solving) and model abstraction techniques as demonstrated by graduate-level research projects and course work
- Knowledge in statistical data processing and design of experiments (DOE)
- Experience in software product development is a plus.
Education
- BS with 5+ years of industry experience on optimization/simulation and software product development, or
- MS with 3+ years of industry experience on optimization/simulation and software product development, or
- PhD
Senior Software Test Engineer/Software Test Manager (1)
Responsibility
- Responsible for software testing, quality assurance and product release of Orora's analog and custom circuit design tools
- Work with Orora product development groups to develop test plans based on functional specs
- Work with Orora designers, application engineers, and customers to develop test cases in HSPICE, SPECTRE and other SPICE variants
- Manage and develop regression testing for optimization engines, modeling and verification engines and GUIs by working with customers, R&D developers
- Coordinate work between the QA, Product development and Application engineering teams in terms of QA
- Summarize daily/weekly/monthly status of coverage, performance and quality, and failure analysis, find the root cause and assign to appropriate engineers

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating system environments required

Internship Positions
Candidates for internship positions must be majoring in a technical degree program (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related area, and have a GPA of 3.5 or above. These intern positions can lead to permanent hires upon graduation.
