Quantum Leap in Mixed-Signal Verification Technology: Orora at DAC 2011

Design Automation Conference (DAC), occurring in San Diego, on June 6-11, 2011, is the largest yearly industry event on semiconductor chip design tools. Technologists from world-leading organizations will speak on how Orora’s industry-unique solution on automated behavioral model generation provides a quantum leap in mixed-signal verification and design capacity.
  • Monday, 10:00am-11:00am, June 6, 2011 (Cadence DAC Exhibit Booth 2237):
Pierluigi Daglio, Manager of AMS Design and Flows, STMicroelectronics, Agrate Brianza, Italy, will speak on “Increasing Design Productivity through Automation of Analog Behavioral Modeling”. This talk will focus on how Arana, fully integrated in the Cadence Virtuoso design environment, provides analog and mixed-signal circuit designers the un-parallel capacity for speeding up simulation and delivering silicon intellectual properties.

  • Tuesday, 1:00pm-2:00pm, June 7, 2011 (DAC User Track Session 2, Room 33ABC):
Elena Raciti, Senior Staff Engineer, STMicroelectronics, Agrate Brianza, Italy, will present “Accelerating Mixed-Signal Design Verification with Automated Behavioral Model Generation”. This presentation will show how Arana has been applied successfully to the automatic model generation and validation of a variety of analog product circuits in the area of wireless communication, automotive electronics, and smart power management.

  • Wednesday, 9:00am-11:30am, June 8, 2011 (DAC User Track Session 5, Room 230DE):
Tatsuya Shirakawa, Senior Researcher, STARC, Yokohoma, Japan, a consortium of Japanese leading electronic companies will speak on “A Post-Layout Mixed-Signal Design Verification Flow with Silicon-Faithful Behavioral Model Extraction”. The talk will show how Orora’s Arana has been applied for automated behavioral model generation and verification of post-layout netlists including process-voltage-temperature variations. With over 200x speed up over a standard circuit simulator, Arana enables, for the first time, post-layout mixed-signal functional sign off.

  • Thursday, 4:00pm-6:00pm, June 9 (DAC User Track Session 12, Room 30DE):
Kunihiko Tsuboi, Senior Manager of Mixed-Signal Division, STARC, Yokohama, Japan, a consortium of Japanese leading electronic companies will present “STARCAD-AMS: Next Generation Analog Design Flow”, a new mixed-signal design flow that reduces the total turn around time by half. STARC-AMS explores extensively Orora’s automated behavioral model generation for pre-layout and post-layout design verification and optimization. According to STARC, Arana is the most significant technology used in the STARC-AMS flow in terms of the total turn around time reduction (by 26%).
Orora Design Technologies, Inc. will have technologists in Booth 3214 from Monday to Wednesday 9:00am-6:00pm.
